Woody climber with masses of starry flowers followed by feathery seed heads. Separate male and female plants. Juvenile foliage is purplish with white markings.
Beautiful but vigorous creeper for larger gardens. Requires a cool root run. Can be pruned. Useful on pergolas and trellises.

The tap root was dug up and roasted.
